About DUI Lawyer Mr. Head

Attorney William C. (Bubba) Head is one of the most well-known DUI defense experts in the country. Thanks to his 93% success rate, numerous DUI defense attorneys request Mr. Head’s assistance as a consultant on challenging drunk-driving cases. Mr. Head has authored several publications related to DUI defense and is frequently asked to speak at DUI seminars and workshops.

Counselor Head received his law degree from The University of Georgia in 1976 and was admitted to the Georgia State Bar in that same year. Mr. Head became a member of the South Carolina State Bar in 1990.

Mr. Head assisted in founding the National College for DUI Defense in 1995 and acted as Regent of the College on two separate occasions since its creation. This prestigious organization is responsible for training top-notch DUI defense lawyers throughout the country. He was named “National DUI Lawyer of the Year” by the college in 2003.

Mr. Head is a member of numerous legal organizations, including: the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, Georgia Defense of Drinking Drivers, and the Gwinnett County Bar Association.

Because of his highly-regarded work ethic and success in the field of DUI defense, Mr. Head has been named on several prestigious lists, including: Top 100 Trial Lawyers in American, Who’s Who in the World Registry, National Who’s Who Registry and Who’s Who in American Law.

In 2001, Mr. Head was featured prominently in an Atlanta Magazine cover story, where he was named “Atlanta’s Best DUI Lawyer” after the magazine conducted a survey of fellow Georgia DUI lawyers.

Mr. Head has authored several publications on the topic of DUI defense, such as 101 Ways to Avoid a Drunk Driving Conviction, The Georgia DUI Defense Trial Practice Manual, and The DUI Book. In fact, The DUI Book is so popular in the DUI-law field that Mr. Head was asked to contribute to state-specific editions.

Mr. Head was also the editor for the DWI Journal, a popular monthly publication for DUI lawyers in 2007. He continues to work with the publication by serving on the editorial board.

Mr. Head plays a big role in the continuing education of other DUI defense lawyers. Because the science behind breath testing is such an important part of DUI defense, Mr. Head sponsored a training course on the Intoxilyzer 5000, one of the most commonly used breath testing machines. This week-long course taught his fellow attorneys about the issues and weaknesses with the device.

Mr. Head has also sponsored several NHTSA Field Sobriety Test training workshops. These courses teach the same material that law enforcement agents learn while in basic training.

Mr. Head is a partner at the law firm of Head, Thomas, Webb & Willis, LLC, which has an “av” rating, the highest possible, from Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Head volunteers with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Children’s Cancer Unit. He is also on the board of directors for the Georgia Innocence Project.
